Painting and Installations
The works of Manfredi propose a sidereal space back. Unknown planets appear at canvas as freed from weight and stillness of square or rectangular shape to reveal as windows, openings, borders and continuation of a psychical universe, place of mental immersion. Its aim is to find harmony back between gaze upon things and events reducing narrative and descriptive elements at minimum. His composition ideations move to the abstraction of symbolic shapes involving the physical reality of space. His painting is clear in the trait and in the background colour. His terse drawing and the clearness of greys and light blues traits represent the reflex of space as filtered by painting.
Le opere di Manfredi ripropongono uno spazio siderale. Astri sconosciuti si affacciano dalle tele liberati dal peso e dalla staticità della forma quadrata o rettangolare per rivelarsi come finestre, aperture, soglie e continuazioni di un universo psichico, luogo di immersione mentale. Il suo scopo è quello di ritrovare l’armonia tra la qualità dello sguardo sulle cose e sugli eventi riducendo al minimo gli elementi narrativi e descrittivi. Le sue ideazioni compositive si spingono all’astrazione di forme simboliche coinvolgenti la realtà fisica dello spazio. La pittura è chiara nel tratto e nella campitura del colore. Il disegno terso e il nitore delle stesure dei grigi e degli azzurri rappresentano il riflesso dello spazio filtrato dalla pittura.
